Oriental Note Fragrances & Raw Materials for Attars, Oud and Amber Accords

The oriental note is the warm, resinous, long-lasting heart of perfumery — the family behind oud attars, amber accords, bakhoor and the deep, spicy fragrances that linger for hours. Building these compositions well depends on the quality and character of a handful of demanding raw materials, from agarwood and resins to rose, musk and warm spices. Sakha International supplies the attars, resinoids, floral absolutes and aroma chemicals that perfumers and manufacturers use to compose authentic oriental fragrances.

Working from Delhi since 2011 as a supplier, trader and exporter, Sakha carries an oriental range that spans traditional attars, muattars, bakhoor and oudh, alongside the individual materials and ready compounds needed to build them. As an authorized distributor of established Indian and international fragrance houses, it serves attar producers, compounders, personal-care brands and incense makers who need consistent quality and dependable bulk supply.

What Defines the Oriental Note

“Oriental” describes a fragrance family, not a place. It refers to compositions built on warm, sweet and resinous materials — amber, oud, musk, vanilla and spice — that trace back to the incense and perfume traditions of India, Arabia and the wider East. Many perfumers now also call this family the amber family, but the character is the same: rich, enveloping and tenacious on skin or fabric.

A classic oriental is usually structured in three movements. Bright, spicy top notes — bergamot, saffron, pepper — open the fragrance. A floral-woody heart of rose, jasmine and oud gives it body. A resinous base of amber, labdanum, benzoin, musk, sandalwood and vanilla anchors it and gives the long drydown orientals are known for. That heavy, fixative-rich base is precisely why these fragrances last so well.

Where Oriental Notes Are Used

Frequently asked questions

Oriental accords are built on warm, resinous materials: oud (agarwood), an amber accord, resins such as benzoin and labdanum, musk, sandalwood, rose and warm spices. Sakha supplies these as attars, resinoids, absolutes, essential oils and aroma chemicals.

No. In perfumery, amber is a composed effect rather than one raw material. It is typically built from resins such as labdanum and benzoin together with vanilla and other warm materials, which is why every perfumer’s amber base smells a little different.

Yes. Sakha’s oriental range includes attars, muattars, bakhoor and oudh, and it also supplies ready oriental perfumery compounds and finished fragrances for brands that prefer a compounded solution.

An attar is oil-based and alcohol-free, delivered on a carrier or base oil, while a fine perfume is dissolved in ethanol. The two behave differently, so material selection, solubility and solvent/diluent choices are matched to the intended base.

Agarwood-producing Aquilaria species are listed under CITES, so oud materials should carry appropriate legal and sustainability documentation. Sakha supplies oriental materials in line with a buyer’s compliance and documentation requirements.

Yes. Naturals such as attars, rose and sandalwood oils and resinoids are available alongside synthetic musks, amber molecules and other aroma chemicals, so accords can be balanced for authenticity, longevity and cost.
